Premier League Corner Stats: Average Corners per Game, Team Table and Corner Betting
October 11, 2026
A Premier League match averaged 10.00 corners in the 2025/26 season, down from 10.30 the season before. This page puts the league’s corner and card numbers in one place: season averages, how often a match goes over the common lines, a corner table for all 20 clubs of 2025/26, and how corner and card bets are read and settled.
Average corners per game in the Premier League

All figures are computed from every match of each season (380 per season; data from football-data.co.uk) and count corners in 90 minutes plus stoppage time.
| Season | Corners per match | Home / away | Over 8.5 | Over 9.5 | Over 10.5 | Over 11.5 | Exactly 10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025/26 | 10.00 | 5.39 / 4.60 | 66.1% | 56.3% | 43.7% | 31.6% | 12.6% |
| 2024/25 | 10.30 | 5.43 / 4.87 | 70.5% | 59.7% | 48.4% | 32.9% | 11.3% |
| 2023/24 | 10.84 | 6.12 / 4.71 | 74.2% | 61.6% | 52.4% | 40.0% | 9.2% |
The fewest corners in a 2025/26 match was 3 and the most was 19. The home side won more corners than the away side in 52.9% of matches, and the count was level in 11.6%. In the first 50 matches of 2026/27 (to 20 September) the average is 9.38, a small sample that can move a lot over a season.
Premier League team corner stats 2025/26

| Brentford | 4.79 | 5.37 | 10.16 | 1.82 |
| Manchester United | 4.79 | 4.89 | 9.68 | 1.63 |
| Leeds United | 4.42 | 5.08 | 9.50 | 1.63 |

| Crystal Palace | 4.21 | 5.24 | 9.45 | 1.95 |
| Sunderland | 3.71 | 5.29 | 9.00 | 2.11 |
| Burnley | 3.63 | 6.00 | 9.63 | 1.68 |
| Wolverhampton | 3.42 | 6.00 | 9.42 | 2.05 |
The pattern is what you would expect: the sides that dominate the ball win the most corners and concede the fewest. Manchester City won 6.50 per game and conceded 3.82; Arsenal conceded the fewest of all at 3.37. Matches involving West Ham (11.03) and Newcastle (11.00) produced the most corners in total, Sunderland’s (9.00) and Arsenal’s (9.05) the fewest.
Average yellow cards per game
| Season | Yellow cards per match | Over 3.5 yellows | Over 4.5 yellows | Matches with a red card |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025/26 | 3.75 | 55.3% | 33.9% | 9.2% |
| 2024/25 | 4.05 | 59.2% | 38.9% | 12.1% |
| 2023/24 | 4.17 | 61.1% | 42.1% | 13.9% |
Card counts depend heavily on the referee and the fixture, so a single match line can sit well away from the league average.
How corner betting works
A corner bet is settled on the number of corners taken, not on goals. A goalless draw can produce 14 corners and a 4-0 win only five. The common markets:
- Total corners (over/under): both teams’ corners combined, above or below a line such as 10.5.
- Corner handicap: which team takes more corners after a handicap is applied.
- Corner match bet (1X2): home more, equal, or away more.
- Team corners, first corner, and first-half or second-half versions of the above.
Here are 22bet’s corner lines for Liverpool v Manchester City (Premier League, 11 October 2026):
| Total corners line | Over | Under | If exactly 10 corners are taken |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9.5 | 1.60 | 2.14 | Over wins |
| 10 | 1.80 | 1.95 | Both sides refunded |
| 10.5 | 1.97 | 1.71 | Under wins |
| 11 | 2.23 | 1.51 | Under wins |
Lines ending in .5 always produce a winner. On a whole line such as 10, a total that lands exactly on the line is refunded on both sides; in 2025/26 that happened in 12.6% of matches. The corner match bet for the same game was Liverpool 2.20, equal 8.50, Manchester City 1.90.
Corner handicap explained
The corner handicap works like an Asian handicap on corners. For the same match 22bet offered:
- Liverpool 0 at 2.00 / Manchester City 0 at 1.75: the side with more corners wins; equal corners are refunded.
- Liverpool +1.5 at 1.48 / Manchester City -1.5 at 2.40: City need at least two more corners than Liverpool; Liverpool +1.5 wins if they take more, the same, or one fewer.
Margins on corner markets run higher than on the main result. The 10 line above (1.80 and 1.95) carries about 6.8%, and the 9.5 and 10.5 lines about 9.2%. How to work that out is on the house edge page.
How corner and card bets are settled

From 22bet’s sports betting rules:
- 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs do not count unless the market says so.
- Only corners that are taken count. A retaken corner counts once.
- Statistics come from the broadcast; if it is interrupted, official sources are used, and if no official corner figure exists the bet is settled at odds of 1 (refund).
- Yellow card totals and handicaps count cards shown to players and goalkeepers on the pitch only. A second yellow for the same player is not added to the yellow total. Cards shown after the final whistle do not count; a card shown at half-time for a first-half offence counts for the first half.
- “Cards” markets (yellow and red): a yellow counts 1 and a red 2; a second yellow counts as 1 yellow + 1 red = 3, with a maximum of 3 per player.
- Booking points: yellow 10 points, red 25, and a maximum of 25 for a player sent off after a yellow.
- Combined bets such as “under 10 corners and under 4 cards” have no refund: with 9 corners and exactly 4 cards that bet loses.
Where to bet on corners
22bet prices corners on the major leagues in depth: a Premier League match carries around 400 selections in the corners section alone (totals, handicaps, match bet, team and half markets), with separate sections for yellow cards, cards, shots on target, offsides and fouls. Read the full 22bet review, or compare sportsbooks on our betting sites page. For goals rather than corners, see Asian total goals.
For the goals side of the same fixtures, see BTTS stats for the Premier League and Europe’s other top leagues.
Bet responsibly
Season averages describe hundreds of matches; they do not tell you how many corners the next one will have, and the bookmaker’s margin is built into every price. Only stake what you can afford to lose, set a limit before each round of fixtures, and never chase losses. Betting is for adults 18+ only.
