Ice Fishing Game: How Evolution's Live Game Show Works, Odds and RTP

October 17, 2026 Ice Fishing Game: How Evolution's Live Game Show Works, Odds and RTP

Ice Fishing is a live game show from Evolution, launched in August 2025. A presenter hosts the game from an arctic-themed studio, and each round is decided by a virtual money wheel with 53 segments. Most segments are Leaf 1 and Leaf 2, which pay instantly. The other seven trigger one of three fishing bonus games, Lil’ Blues, Big Oranges and Huge Reds, where each fish carries a multiplier of 3x to 500x. Random multipliers added before the spin can raise the top result to 5,000x. Evolution built it as a speed game show, so rounds are much shorter than in Crazy Time or Dream Catcher. This guide covers how a round works, the wheel odds, the multipliers, the bonus games and the RTP of every bet.

How the Ice Fishing game works

  1. Place your bets on one or more bet spots: Leaf 1, Leaf 2, Lil’ Blues, Big Oranges, Huge Reds, or All Bonuses, which covers all three bonus spots at once.
  2. Multipliers are drawn. When betting closes, one random Leaf segment may get a multiplier of 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x or 10x, and the segments of a bonus type may get a multiplier of 2x to 10x.
  3. The wheel spins and the flapper marks the winning segment.
  4. Bets are settled. A Leaf result pays at once. A bonus result starts that bonus game, and only players who bet on that bonus spot take part in it, although everyone at the table can watch.

The Ice Fishing wheel: segments and odds

Chart of the Ice Fishing wheel: segments, how often each bet spot lands and its RTP

Bet spot Segments Chance per spin Lands about Pays
Leaf 1 23 43.40% 1 spin in 2.3 1:1, more with a multiplier
Leaf 2 23 43.40% 1 spin in 2.3 1:1, more with a multiplier
Lil’ Blues 4 7.55% 1 spin in 13.25 Bonus game, fish 3x to 100x
Big Oranges 2 3.77% 1 spin in 26.5 Bonus game, fish 4x to 200x
Huge Reds 1 1.89% 1 spin in 53 Bonus game, fish 10x to 500x

Leaf segments cover 46 of the 53 segments, or 86.79% of the wheel, and the seven bonus segments together come up on 13.21% of spins. The wheel is generated by a certified random number generator, so every spin is independent of the last.

Ice Fishing multipliers

There are two kinds of multiplier, both drawn after betting closes:

  • Leaf multipliers. One random Leaf segment may get 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x or 10x. If the wheel stops on it, a bet on that Leaf pays more than even money: at 10x it pays 9:1.
  • Bonus multipliers. All segments of one bonus type may get 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x or 10x. If that bonus is triggered, every fish multiplier in the bonus game is raised by it before the fishing starts.

The 5,000x top result is a 500x fish in Huge Reds with a 10x bonus multiplier on the segment. Casinos also apply a maximum payout per round, which the rules screen at the table shows.

The three bonus games

A bonus result moves the game to an arctic lake full of fish, each with a multiplier. The presenter reels in a catch slowly, and the final multiplier is shown once the fish is out of the water. The payout is your bet on that bonus spot times the multiplier.

Bonus game Fish multipliers Triggers about Average return when it triggers
Lil’ Blues 3x to 100x 1 spin in 13.25 12.68x the bet
Big Oranges 4x to 200x 1 spin in 26.5 25.33x the bet
Huge Reds 10x to 500x 1 spin in 53 50.44x the bet

The last column follows from each bet’s RTP and how often it triggers: a bet that returns 95.69% on average and pays only on 4 spins in 53 has to return about 12.68 times the stake on those spins. A bonus always ends with a catch, so the smallest result is the lowest fish multiplier: 3x, 4x or 10x.

Ice Fishing RTP

Bet spot RTP House edge RTP at the payout cap
Leaf 1 97.10% 2.90% 97.10%
Leaf 2 97.10% 2.90% 97.10%
Lil’ Blues 95.69% 4.31% 95.15%
Big Oranges 95.60% 4.40% 95.00%
Huge Reds 95.17% 4.83% 94.55%

The Leaf bets have the highest RTP in the game. Paid at 1:1, a Leaf bet returns 2 units on 23 spins in 53, which is 86.79% of the stake; the other 10.31 points of its 97.10% come from the spins where the winning Leaf segment carries a multiplier. The bonus bets return less on average and pay far less often, in exchange for the larger multipliers. The last column applies only to very large bets, where the casino’s maximum payout per round would cut off the biggest results.

For comparison, our Crazy Time guide lists the RTP of every bet in Evolution’s biggest wheel show, and our Dream Catcher guide covers the original money wheel.

Is there an Ice Fishing strategy?

No bet selection changes the odds. Each spin is random, the multipliers are drawn after betting closes, and a bonus that has not come up for a while is no more likely on the next spin. What you choose is the shape of the risk:

  • Leaf 1 and Leaf 2 land on most spins and cost the least, 2.90% of the stake on average.
  • The bonus spots cost 4.31% to 4.83% and pay on 1 spin in 13 to 1 spin in 53, so results swing much more.
  • Betting on both Leaves covers 46 segments, but on a Leaf result one bet wins at 1:1 and the other loses, so without a multiplier the two bets break even.

Result trackers and “Ice Fishing result today” pages log every spin and bonus. They are a useful way to see how often each segment comes up over many spins, but past results do not predict the next one.

How does Ice Fishing work?

You bet on Leaf 1, Leaf 2 or one of the bonus spots. After betting closes, random multipliers may be added to a Leaf segment and to a bonus type, then the wheel spins. Leaf results pay 1:1 (more with a multiplier); bonus results start a fishing game for players who bet on that bonus.
